OsloMet is part of a large EU Horizon Pathfinder Open project called Inhibitor-Mediated Programming of Glycoforms (IMProGlyco). This project aims to optimize cellular glycosylation for use in biotechnology and healthcare industries. The university's role involves characterizing glycosylation of cell lines and primary cell cultures, led by Professor Niclas Karlsson.
This opportunity enables applicants with a background in protein biochemistry, glycobiology, and/or biological mass spectrometry to contribute significantly to interdisciplinary research in an environment integrating biochemistry, glycobiology, and medicine.
Responsibilities- Contribute to developing a new strategy for identifying and reporting protein glycosylation
- Collaborate with an international team from institutions in Leeds, Oslo, York, Vienna, and Dublin
- Develop protocols and utilize methods for mass spectrometric glycoprotein analysis
- Maintain and operate OsloMet's mass spectrometry facility
- Assign glycoconjugates using mass spectrometry
