Postdoctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence Enabled Chemistry

We are excited to offer an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated researcher to join our team as a postdoctoral fellow in artificial intelligence enabled structure-based drug design. The successful candidate will be part of our dynamic research group led by Professor Dr. Ruth Brenk at the Department of Biomedicine, University of Bergen.
About the ProjectThe main goal of this project is to improve methods used for structure-based drug design and apply them to design inhibitors for enzymes with biological relevance. To achieve this, we aim to develop AI methods suitable for de novo design, scoring functions to predict the affinities of designed compounds, and docking methods. However, the validation of these AI methods is often limited, and therefore, we will focus on validating AI-based de novo design, scoring, and docking methods using both retrospective and prospective predictions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing AI-driven approaches to predict the affinities of designed compounds and validating these methods using real-life drug discovery examples. This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of AI-assisted drug development.
