Chief Oil Trader

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chief Oil Trader to join our team in London, UK. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of developing trading strategies in the oil market and deep understanding of the oil paper flow and market participants.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profitability;
- Monitor, manage, and optimize trading positions, ensuring alignment with risk management protocols;
- Build and maintain proprietary risk metrics for sizeable positions; dynamically handle positions in an evolving market;
- Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, geopolitical events, and economic data to inform trading decisions;
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve trading book issues promptly and effectively;
- Share market intelligence and insights with the trading desk, fostering an open and informative dialogue;
- Execute trades with agility and precision, understanding the urgency and impact on the market.
- A minimum 5 years of experience in oil trading, with a strong focus on quantitative and fundamental analysis;
- Proficiency in using advanced analytical tools and software for market analysis and strategy development;
- A deep understanding of oil paper flow, derivatives, and physical trading mechanisms;
- Expertise in constructing and managing risk metrics, including Value at Risk (VaR) and scenario analysis;
- In-depth knowledge of global oil markets, including key players, regulatory environments, and trading platforms;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex market dynamics and strategies to diverse stakeholders;
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- An estimated salary of £120,000 - £180,000 per annum, depending on experience;
