Diplomatic Representative for NATO Operations

The NATO Senior Civilian Representative plays a critical role in representing the political leadership of the Alliance officially and publicly. This involves liaising with authorities, civil society, representatives of the international community, and neighbouring countries.
As a Political Liaison Officer for NATO Exercises, you will provide subject matter expertise in the political situation and attitude of required nations to realistically represent the exercise scenario to the training audience.
Main Responsibilities- Act as the focal point for the training audience for the government of required countries for political and diplomatic matters during exercise preparation and execution.
- Coordinate political and diplomatic operational matters with all other national and international political representatives.
- Make solicited recommendations to the JWC Exercise Control team.
- Demonstrate 3 years' experience in the last 10 in the field of political decision making at Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Ministry of Defence level.
- Demonstrate 3 years' experience in the last 10 in briefing senior leaders/decision makers at the governance level in a National or Multinational environment.
- Demonstrate 3 years' experience in the last 10 in influencing national policy making at strategic level in the represented country.
- Have been an ambassador or defense attaché in an African country and experience as a NATO representative in the last 10 years.
- A University/ Bachelor's Degree.
- Business English.
- Stavanger, Norway.
- Remote work may be requested on an ad-hoc basis per requirement.
- Each exercise support requirement is anticipated to be 5 to 15 working days per event.
- On-Site, unless otherwise specified with up to 12-hour days.
- If out-of-hours work is required, this will be requested on a per-requirement basis.
- Any associated travel costs to and from your home location to participate in the activity will be covered by Spekrum.
- Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance.
