Job Description:

The Country Controller role at Dentsu requires a seasoned finance professional to lead our Finance department in Norway.

This individual will be responsible for developing financial strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high-quality financial information.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and implement robust financial controls within statutory and management reporting frameworks.
  2. Manage the process of filing local tax, statutory, and regulatory reports in a timely manner.
  3. Coordinate Balance Sheet reviews in Norway and collaborate with in-country Financial Controllers to optimize processes and management.
  4. Negotiate and manage relationships with internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  5. Sustain and update the internal control framework.
  6. Function as the local technical accounting specialist for all accounting, legal, and regulatory matters.
  7. Verify and maintain compliance with Dentsu policies and uphold financial integrity.
  8. Enhance capabilities, tools, and skills within Controllership to boost efficiency and value add.
  9. Respond to internal audit findings raised by the Internal Audit team and collaborate with in-country Financial Controllers to resolve pending matters.
  10. Promote control and compliance awareness through on-site training sessions if necessary.
  11. Nurture and strengthen the relationship between the Country Controller role and the Group controllership function.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and Auditing.
  2. Experience in auditing, transitioning to an in-house role or working in a larger accounting firm.
  3. Significant experience in large corporations with understanding of corporate structures and guidelines.
  4. Compliance experience (SOX – JSOX experience advantageous).
  5. International company experience and IFRS knowledge.
  6. Versatile experience from auditing to operational accounting and further to a controller role.
  7. Fluent in English and Norwegian.
  8. Interest in technological development and ability to identify opportunities in technological solutions.
