Telenor Group is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Legal Counsel in its Group Tax department.

Job Overview

In this position, you will play a vital role in providing strategic and operational support and advice on all tax-related matters. You will work closely with various stakeholders across the organization to drive and oversee tax-related matters.

The Group Tax team operates with a strong focus on ethics and proactively manages tax risks in collaboration with all business areas within Telenor Group. You will be responsible for providing advice on a wide range of tax-related topics, including capital and legal structuring, reorganizations, M&A activities, transfer pricing, tax audits, and tax disputes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Offer expert advice on all tax-related matters, including cross-border transactions, capital structuring, restructuring projects, M&A activities, product development, and international taxation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive global tax policies, ensuring alignment with the tax function's goals.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of tax reports and filings, working collaboratively with colleagues in Telenor Shared Services AS.
  • Nurture productive relationships with relevant authorities through constructive dialogue.
  • Implement effective tax risk management strategies to prevent non-compliance across Telenor Group's operations in various countries and regions.
  • Actively monitor and manage legal changes, including the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework Global Tax Reform, and initiate necessary projects.
  • Assist in tax audits, disputes, and litigations within the Telenor Group, working closely with business units and external advisors.
Key Requirements

We seek a candidate with a Master's degree in law and 5-10 years of experience in a top-tier advisory firm or in-house legal counsel role within a multinational group. Strong technical expertise in tax, excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential.
