Team Overview

  • The Project Planning team in Oslo consists of a diverse group of 15 professionals from various backgrounds. Our primary objective is to carefully plan all project activities in accordance with Nexans' established procedures from the initial project phase to its completion. We provide support for projects of varying sizes and complexities across the globe.
  • Your position will be based in Oslo, reporting directly to the Project Planning Manager.

Your Role

To thrive in the Project Planning function, we seek an individual with a solid background in project management within the energy sector. Familiarity with identifying, analyzing, and mitigating schedule-related risks and opportunities is essential. Experience in project-driven organizations, both locally and internationally, is a must. Ideally, you will have been involved with interconnectors, wind farms, or shore power initiatives. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle while upholding high standards of execution through analytical thinking and organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital member of the Project Planning team, you will oversee all scheduling and detailed planning activities under the direction of the Project Planning Manager. Your duties will encompass coordinating both internal and external planning efforts in line with contracts, internal processes, and the Project Model. You will establish baseline schedules, conduct critical path analysis, and proactively manage schedule risks and opportunities. Furthermore, you will contribute to enhancing efficiencies, driving technical improvements, and promoting Quality and HSE standards.

Qualifications

  • Relevant College or University degree (experience may compensate)
  • At least 5 years of experience in project planning
  • Training or certification in planning methodologies
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, with a solid understanding of MS Project, Excel, and other relevant tools
  • A structured, proactive, and analytical mindset is crucial for success
  • Basic technical and economic understanding is vital for detailed planning
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities for effective project collaboration
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written); proficiency in Norwegian is a plus
