Lead Software Architect

As a **Lead Software Architect**, you will be instrumental in the development and enhancement of our SaaS offerings.In this role, you will be tasked with constructing intricate systems that are efficient, scalable, secure, and maintainable. You will spearhead the development and enhancement of significant new features central to our backend operations. This involves aligning new functionalities with existing capabilities, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate product objectives into practical and viable backend services, and identifying fundamental patterns and abstractions to enhance developer productivity while ensuring technical excellence on critical backend components.
At the principal level, our software engineers are charged with establishing a technical vision and delivering solutions that are consistently available, reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs. Each team member contributes their unique skill set, experiences, thought leadership, and expertise to tackle these technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate discussions to shape the strategic direction of the product, collaborate on and architect solutions by testing and refining design hypotheses.Engage with stakeholders across various organizations to ascertain requirements, coordinate, and deliver products. Utilize diverse feedback channels to integrate experimental development and insights into future designs and solutions.Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to achieve high quality, performance, reliability, and security.Independently devise a clear and articulated plan for testing and ensuring the quality of solutions. Assess the need for broad versus selective testing approaches and make informed decisions to implement the most effective tests.Utilize performance and profiling tools to identify hotspots and bottlenecks across hardware and software boundaries.Actively pursue new knowledge and adapt to emerging trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will enhance the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, security, and performance of products, while also promoting consistency in monitoring and operating at scale.Required Competence and Skills
BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent.8 years of experience in software development across one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, C, Python, Rust, or Go. Familiarity with .NET is advantageous.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Norwegian is a plus.Understanding of SOLID principles, design and architecture patterns, and industry best practices.Strong expertise in designing and writing APIs (e.g., REST, GraphQL, (g)RPC).In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, as well as experience with containers and Kubernetes.Experience with efficient and well-functioning CI/CD pipelines.Familiarity with OPC-UA or other IoT protocols is a plus.-
