The Opportunity

Abbott is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to support the payroll function for employees in Norway. This role offers a great opportunity to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on developing and improving the payroll function across EMEA West.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the monthly payroll, including backup documentation and reconciliations.
  • Stay up-to-date on payroll-related legislation.
  • Function as the main point of contact for payroll-related matters from employees.
  • Support payroll reviews, as part of internal and external audits.
  • Update master data in the payroll system.
  • Maintain employee data in the pension portal.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports to HR and Shared Service Center.
  • Administer the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Request refunds from the Norwegian Tax Authority.
  • Send information to public authorities and trade unions.
  • Verify the completeness of supporting payroll documents.
  • Improve the efficiency of payroll processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good command of Excel.
  • Experience with SAP and SD-Worx is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Norwegian payroll rules.
  • Fluency in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, as well as English (written and verbal).
