
Advanced PhD Researcher in AI and Data Science

The Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo invites applications for a PhD Research Fellow position in AI and Data Science. The successful candidate will join the Data and Knowledge Management (DKM) research group, which focuses on developing novel AI and data science solutions for real-world problems.
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to work on a project exploring the intersection of logic, uncertainty theory, and machine learning. The project involves developing and implementing novel algorithmic approaches for extracting description logic ontologies from large language models.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computational logic or knowledge representation, as well as experience with programming languages such as Java or Python. A master's degree in informatics, computer science, or mathematics is required. Fluency in English is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research in AI and data science under the supervision of experienced faculty members.
- Develop and implement novel algorithmic approaches for extracting description logic ontologies from large language models.
- Collaborate with team members on various projects and contribute to the development of the DKM research group.
