Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled academic researcher to fill a PhD position in English linguistics at Unist. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the department of foreign languages and will work under the supervision of experienced researchers.

The PhD project will focus on language variation and change, synchronic or historical linguistics, and language contact. The candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong background in empirical data analysis and argumentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original research in English linguistics
  • Analyze and interpret linguistic data
  • Develop and present research findings
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in seminars and workshops

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in English linguistics or a related field
  • Strong background in empirical data analysis and argumentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
