About the Role
In Ship Electrification Solutions (SES), we're a leading total supplier of electric and hybrid solutions for the marine industry, covering Shaft Generators, Electric Propulsion Systems, Hybrid Solutions, and shore power.
We're strengthening our dynamic team with a Sales Engineer specialising in electrical power systems, collaborating closely with Sales Managers to cover sales projects from early phases to deal transfer.
As a Sales Engineer, you'll configure solutions for hybrid and electric propulsion systems, ensuring optimal value propositions and solution configurations. You'll coordinate technical bids with our global front-line sales force and suppliers of solution components, such as generators, converters, batteries, transformers, or e-motors.
This role preferably resides in Stord, Norway, or Hamburg, Germany, but due to its international nature, you'll interact with customers, Sales Managers, and other Sales Engineers worldwide.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and tailor technical content and scope of solutions based on customer discussions and/or front-line sales force input.
- Engage in technical discussions with counterparty experts from shipyards, owners, and design companies.
- Create technical bids, including formulation of technical and commercial documentation for solution proposals based on customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in sales phases and support Sales Teams.
- Prepare technical solutions, cost calculations, and sales price quotations for components, sub-assemblies, installation, commissioning activities, and training.
- Coordinate order transfers from Sales and Sales Engineering to Project and Engineering execution teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Ships Operational Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Professional experience, particularly in power generation plants, control, and converter technology.
- Structured approach with hands-on attitude.
- Passion for exploring technical and commercial solutions to provide value to customers.
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
