Our research group is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to the development of resilient and reliable power exchange promoting flexibility solutions. The successful candidate will join our team at NTNU's Department of Electric Energy, where we foster an open, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.

The PhD position will focus on addressing the overall goal of zero-carbon energy systems that are flexible and adaptable, to facilitate the integration of renewable and low-carbon energy sources while ensuring a high security of supply and resilience against extreme events. You will work with the interplay between electrical engineering and information technology, including electricity market economics and consumer engagement studies.

This entails investigating how to sustain adequate and appropriate capacity including different resources combination considered an eligible resource in some markets. You will also explore how to operate local flexibility resources targeting carbon emission reduction, as well as how active consumers' participation in the markets influences their behavior/energy consumption.
