Installation Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE:INSTALLATION ENGINEER REPORTINGTO: OPERATIONS MANAGER  ROLE: TheInstallation Engineer (IE) will be part of a team, which as a group willperform the duties to install Security Systems atcustomer's premises. Generally, this role is to install any orders that thecompany may receive and requires a great deal of initiative and autonomy.Flexibility is essential in adapting to future changes within the company andfluctuations within the workload. RESPONSIBILITIES: These dutieswill be based upon all or part of the following:·       The Installation Engineer (IE) will be allocated projects by theProject Manager (PM)·       They will then be responsible, together, for the planning,scheduling, installation, and handover of projects·       On receipt of a site file the IE, with the PM, will review theproject to ensure that they are conversant with any particular contractconditions; they will also ensure that the equipment specified constitutes aworking and suitable system in liaison with the Salesman and the customer and,where necessary, resolve any queries at this stage·       Any predetermined program of works and delivery schedule will benoted and actioned; any changes will, proactively, be notified to the customerand the Salesperson·       Should there be no previous agreement, then the customer shall beinformed as soon as possible of the arranged program·       The IE shall highlight any issues they feel may affect theprofitability of any projects they are working on·       Any concerns should be highlighted to the PM·       The IE will monitor the progress of their work at all times andwill advise the PM of any changes through regular 'Project Reviews'·       The IE will complete the relevant commissioning and completioncertificates with the assistance of a Senior Engineer if required·       Where the IE experiences difficulty in fulfilling their duties orfinds the program of works not on schedule, particularly where 'LiquidatedDamages' may be incurred, the PM will be advised immediately·       The PM will ensure that all applicable documentation is providedin a suitable format at the time of handover to the customer·       The IE will ensure that the client or end user training on the useof their system is arranged; this could entail providing basic training orarranging training with another department·       The IE will liaise with the Service Department to handover eachinstallation and make them aware of important information and features of thesystem·       The IE will feedback any relevant information to ensure problemsencountered are dealt with so as not to reoccur and areas where installationshave gone particularly well are also highlighted·       The IE may at any time have a Junior Engineer under theirresponsibility·       The IE will be expected to monitor and assist those other Engineersin the progression of their roles·       The IE is to be responsible for informing the PM of anyoccurrences whereby the Junior Engineers are performing exceptionally well, oralternatively, where improvements can be made·       Specific notice should be taken of their timekeeping ExpensesSheets: These must be completed daily and submitted by the 20th of each month to theProjects Administrator. Valid VAT receipts must support claims whereapplicable. VehicleMaintenance: Maintain the vehicle provided in accordance with the 'Vehicle Operating Rules'.Keep the vehicle clean, inside, and out. MobileTelephone: Maintain the telephone in full working order, having any necessary repairscarried out as quickly as possible in conjunction with the PA. Keep thetelephone charged and ready for any working period. Dress in aprofessional manner as fitting to the task being performed and as therepresentative of the company. Carry identification at all times. Comply with BSEN ISO9001 and NACOSS procedures. Comply with allcompany GDPR and ISO27001 procedures and obligations and ensure that thosereporting to you do the same. Carry out anyreasonable requests from management.
