Service Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE:SERVICE ENGINEER  REPORTINGTO: UK & EMEA SERVICE MANAGER  ROLE: The Service Engineer (SE) will be part of a team which, as a group,will perform the duties to maintain and repair security systems installed at thepremises of our client's customers. The role requires a great deal of initiative and autonomy. Flexibilityis essential in adapting to future changes within the company and fluctuationswithin the workload. RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties will be based upon all or part of the following:  ·       The Service Engineer (SE) will be allocated work byeither the Service Administrator (SA) or Service Manager (SM)·       Carry out reactive fault -finding and rectification onCCTV, IP CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Door Entry Systems, ServerHardware/Software and Workstation Hardware/Software·       Carry out planned preventative maintenance on CCTV, IPCCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Door Entry Systems, ServerHardware/Software and Workstation Hardware/Software·       Be on the 24 -hour -7 -days -a -week -365 -days -a -yearcallout rota to provide reactive fault finding and rectification out of hours -currently this is shared between the Engineers on a 1 -in -4 basis; this will bepaid in addition to your basic salary·       Your work area will be defined but flexibility isexpected as the company has clients throughout the UK and Europe; you must bewilling to stay away as required by the SA·       Attend client premises as required in a timely manner,be courteous, of a professional appearance, and ensure the client is kept fullyinformed of job progress·       If you experience any difficulties in fulfilling yourduties, advise the SM immediately·       Complete the relevant service paperwork as provided·       On completion of each job, offer our client'scustomers a demonstration that the problem is resolved or a discussion aboutthe work carried out as part of the Routine Maintenance; specifically, the customeris to be asked if there's anything else you can provide them with assistancewith ·       Any unrectified faults, return visits or partsrequired will be notified by telephone to the SM or SA prior to leaving site·       Feed back any relevant information to ensure problemsencountered are dealt with so as not to reoccur, and areas where service andmaintenance have gone particularly well are also to be highlighted·       Monitor the progress of your work at all times andadvise the SM of any changes through regular Service Meetings·       Ensure that all applicable documentation is completed toenable the correct completion of your duties·       Monitor and assist other Engineers/ Junior Engineers if / when required·       Inform the SM of any occurrences whereby the JuniorEngineers are performing exceptionally well, or alternatively, whereimprovements can be made - specific notice should be taken of their timekeeping  Vehicle: A vehicle will be provided for your use. Vehicleswill be allocated depending on availability. Maintain the vehicle provided inaccordance with the 'Vehicle Operating Rules'. Keep the vehicle clean, inside,and out, and report any damage immediately in addition to completing anincident form within two weeks of any occurrence. Mobile Telephone: Maintain the telephone in full workingorder; having any necessary repairs carried out as quickly as possible inconjunction with the SM. Keep the telephone charged and ready for any workingperiod.  Safety Responsibilities: Be aware of Company/Local Procedures andSystems of Work to safeguard People, Quality, Security, and the Environmentincluding compliance with the requirements of current legislation.  Dress in a professional manner as fittingto the task being performed and as the representative of the company. Carryidentification at all times.  Comply with BS EN ISO9001:2000 and NSI (NACOSS)procedures.  Carry out any reasonable requests from Management.
