About the Role

The Country Operation Manager role is part of our Northern Europe rides organization. Together with the General Manager for the Nordics, this role will be the lead in driving Uber's growth and success in Norway.

This hands-on role calls for a combination of customer obsession, savvy analytics, critical thinking, and strong execution skills. You will have to think creatively to find ways to continuously enhance Uber's value proposition to our users (riders & drivers) and optimize their experience of using the Uber app in Norway.

You will act as the local market lead, managing both implementation of our global and regional programs, and driving your own local growth and improvement projects. You will set the vision and strategy for the market together with the Northern Europe leadership team and translate strategy to tactics across all aspects of the business.

You will work alongside three other Country Operations Managers in Finland, Denmark, and Sweden and report to Peter Löfstrand, Head of Nordics.

What You'll Do

  1. Own the Norway market and drive the Business Growth and Development.
  2. Driver acquisition and engagement: Craft and implement the vision, strategy and day to day tactics for driver partner acquisition and engagement through data-centric analytics, creative campaigns, and partnership programs.
  3. Rider acquisition and engagement: Develop and lead conversion strategy for riders by working on both new riders and engaging with existing riders and growing the use cases for Uber.
  4. Develop and manage partnerships: Develop and manage strategic partnerships with larger fleets of drivers and develop a compelling value proposition towards them.
  5. Project management: Strategically lead multiple projects in the Norway business and assume responsibility for communicating progress/challenges with senior stakeholders.
  6. Cross-functional collaboration and partner management: Work collaboratively with local, regional and global teams like policy, communications, product, marketing, legal and customer support.

What you will need

  1. Min 4 years experience in a technology/consulting/or other fast-paced operational environment
  2. Fluent in Norwegian & English
  3. Analytical skills: You can independently extract data from a variety of sources and use it to generate useful insights (SQL, data analytics, and visualization skills preferable)
  4. Project management skills: You have a proven understanding of the project management fundamentals, and can implement projects
  5. Business Insight: Understanding of how our business operates and how it makes money and sustains profitable growth, now and in the future
  6. Communication skills: Using interpersonal skills and situational awareness to clearly deliver information to a variety of audiences
  7. Planning and Organization: Setting up and maintaining processes and tools to appropriately structure and keep track of tasks and projects
  8. Problem Solving: Efficiently resolving issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic and common sense
  9. Partner Management: Taking time to build helpful relationships; earning the trust of others within the organization through strong situational awareness and reliability
  10. Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respects others and works well in a team
  11. Ability and willingness to travel, mainly within Norway, Sweden & Netherlands, up to 20% of the time
