Role description:

The ESG & Compliance Manager will own responsibility for timely and accurate delivery of ESG and compliance reporting, to include implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for Aker BioMarine from 2025 onwards. This is a task-oriented, hands-on role with an opportunity to contribute to process improvements, automation, and strategy in this area. Related tasks include:

  • Support Reporting Processes: Prepare and deliver Aker BioMarine's financial, ESG, and compliance reports under applicable frameworks (e.g., CSRD, Transparency Act), ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • CSRD Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of CSRD requirements, ensuring compliance with new standards and supporting reporting processes ongoing.
  • Data Management: Input and manage data in relevant reporting systems and contribute to the development and optimization of internal tools to track emissions and other relevant metrics.
  • Process Automation: Play an active role in improving and automating reporting solutions and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Operational Support: Organize and collaborate with the Company's ESG Committee, ensuring smooth coordination of activities to maintain progress toward reporting goals.
  • Performance Tracking: Support tracking and analysis of Aker BioMarine's financial, ESG, and compliance performance metrics.

Desired characteristics:

The ideal candidate for the ESG & Compliance Manager role is a doer with interest in environmental, compliance, and legal business frameworks. Other characteristics include:

  • Structured and organized with strong attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Willing to take ownership of tasks and work individually, while collaborating effectively with relevant stakeholders as needed
  • Knowledge and interest in ESG and Compliance subject areas

Qualifications:

Education in Sustainability, Communications, Law, Business, or similar. Interest within the relevant subject matters.

This role is primarily operational and task-focused, with the potential to grow in strategic contributions as expertise develops. It's an excellent opportunity for a junior professional seeking hands-on experience in ESG and compliance reporting. As such, relevant work experience is an advantage but not a requirement.

Fluent in English both written and orally.

Location and department:

The ESG & Compliance Manager will work primarily at our head offices at Fornebu, Norway. We recognize that people have different needs, and trusts employees to deliver results when given flexibility both in terms of working hours and location.

This role is part of the Finance department. Internal collaborations will include General Counsel & Compliance Officer, VP Financial Reporting, CFO, and other various operational business segments such as HR and communications. Other stakeholders include Aker ASA, public bodies regarding financial reporting, Transparency Act reporting, etc.
