The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Reporting Team Lead to oversee and guide one of our Customer Success teams. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in finance and client interactions to ensure the seamless delivery of financial reporting services, foster client satisfaction, and drive operational excellence. As a leader, you will play a key role in mentoring your team, optimizing processes, and shaping the future of our financial reporting services.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Financial Reporting customer success team.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that emphasizes professional growth and client satisfaction.
  • Structure the team, deliveries, and coaching/education methods with great freedom, focusing on helping clients succeed and nurturing top talent.
Client Success:
  • Serve as a point of escalation for client concerns, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  • Oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting services to clients and partners, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and other local GAAPs.
Operational Excellence:
  • Monitor team performance and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for financial reporting and equity compensation management.
  • Lead financial reporting education across the larger customer success organization.
  • Assist in shaping the team's strategic objectives and aligning them with Optio's broader mission.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing client accounts and support upselling initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product managers and sales representatives on commercial processes as a domain expert in financial reporting.
  • Develop and nurture existing and new partnerships relevant to the financial reporting services.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Product, Sales, and Support, to align on goals and improve the customer experience.
  • Contribute to the refinement of our platform and services by providing client feedback and insights.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
  • Experience in audit, internal controller roles, accounting, or similar. Well-versed in IFRS 2 and similar accounting standards are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in finance or a related field, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, IAS, other GAAPs, and equity compensation management.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A data-driven mindset with strong analytical abilities and proficiency in tools like Excel.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
