Platform Engineer - Markets Application Platform

Who we are
DNB Markets is the investment arm of DNB. Our goal is to be the leading investment bank in the Nordics. We offer products and services in fixed income, currencies, commodities, equities, and investment banking. Through our systems, values equivalent to two Norwegian national budgets flow daily. The Markets Application Platform Team is a small, autonomous product team responsible for building and maintaining a frictionless, self-service developer and operational experience that offers the right capabilities to enable developers to produce valuable software with as little overhead as possible.

We are a group of people who bring different specialized skills and responsibilities and feel true ownership for MAP. We like to experiment with new technologies and implement them in an effort to stay ahead of the curve and improve developer experience.

What you will do
As part of the Platform team, your focus will be working towards improving the developer experience through developing our platform. You will do so by collaborating with other engineers and cross-functional team members and have strong say in what and how we build, with meaningful impact across the company.

You will be working with Azure Red Hat OpenShift, build pipelines and provision resources through Infrastructure as Code, improve and write scripts in Python, orchestrate continuous deployment using GitOps principles, improve our observability tools, develop and configure the service mesh, and maintain PostgreSQL servers. You will also be working on our custom-built internal developer platform.

Who you are
You are someone who has a passion for automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors. You understand and can prioritize customer needs and product requirements. A team player with good cooperation skills who can work efficiently in a distributed virtual team. You have an interest in learning new technical skills and technologies.

Your background

  • Hands-on experience with operating and debugging Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters
  • Experience with GitOps practices for continuous deployment and infrastructure management such as ArgoCD
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep and Terraform
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, scripted tasks and APIs
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and practices to ensure system reliability
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, database versioning and migration is a plus

Work location is Bergen, Oslo or Stockholm

Note: The majority of the team is located in Bergen, so some trips to Bergen are expected if the work location is Oslo or Stockholm.
