Job Description

The Back Office Origination Nordic unit is responsible for the end-to-end process for Origination portfolios which consists of non-standardized products. This involves trade control and deal validation, deal confirmations, invoicing, accruals, PnL (Profit & Loss) reconciliation, external counterpart relations and support new products implementation for Origination products. In a quick and changing environment we are building the bridge between our Commercial departments and the different Finance units.

You will be part of the multi-national Back-Office team in Statkraft, which currently consists out of around 80 colleagues based in Oslo, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, and Tirana.

Your role:

As a Backoffice employee, you will be a key contact for our business in Oslo for different Origination's portfolios in Nordic countries. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Perform daily operational tasks such as trade validation of new contracts, process settlement and reconcile accounts.
  2. Communicate with internal and external customers about all matters regarding operationalization of commercial contracts.
  3. Close co-operation with Front Office, Middle Office and other units in the Operational and Risk departments across Europe.
  4. Contribute to improvement initiatives, harmonization and standardization of month end processes and systems in Back Office.
  5. Share knowledge and advise Back Office departments to operationalize revenue accounting principles and developments provided by Finance & Accounting areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Back Office Specialist to support our operations with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. These skills include:

  1. Knowledge how to keep and develop a good collaboration with internal and external stakeholders about all matters regarding operationalization of commercial contracts.
  2. Eagerness to learn about the energy business and related Back Office processes.
  3. The ability to work independently or as part of a team and to thrive in a hectic environment.
  4. A good team player with excellent cooperation and communication skills and the ability to build relations across the organization.

Experiences in these areas are also useful in your role:

  1. University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or similar educational background.
  2. Ideally 1-2 years of experience in contract operations, or accounting tasks in energy related companies.
  3. Good communication skills in English and Norwegian are a must.
  4. Profound IT Skills, especially knowledge of Murex, SAP, Microsoft Office 365.
