Assignment Description

Role Description Data Steward: The data steward will represent the "data consumer" and acts as the single point of contact for one or several Drilling and well data (sub) domains. The Data steward is responsible for capturing data requirements from the business and for establishing data rules for the Drilling and Well data domain. The Data steward is also following up on the data quality within own data domain as well as giving input to the Data Lead about the need for data manager capacity. The Data Steward will support on implementing the defined data governance level for all the relevant data governance capabilities within Drilling and Well data domain.

The Data Steward will work closely with Data Lead and other Data and Information managers in Domain to ensure a coordinated implementation of Data Governance across. The main responsibility of a data steward is to formulate business requirements, to ensure that data rules are documented, to ensure and follow up on data quality, as well as supporting maximum usage and utilization of the data within the scope of the role. Whenever needed, the data steward will also propose and initiate changes in business processes and/or in IT applications through close cooperation with the Product owner and Process author (Leading advisor) roles.

Main tasks Data Steward:

  1. Close cooperation with Subject Matter Experts and Leading Advisors in Domain
  2. Onboard and develop the Data Steward role in the organization
  3. Develop data governance tools and work processes to optimize D&W Data Governance implementation process.
  4. Assist in updating logical data architecture and logical data models.
  5. Assist in describing data type standards, naming conventions, formats, and metadata definitions in cooperation with Leading Advisors
  6. Identify and describe data rules, data quality rules.
  7. Describe Data flow in D&W Domain and assist in updating data architecture.
  8. Legal Risk Assessment and legal and regulatory classification of data.
  9. Assist in updating and maintaining Data Governance Framework documentation in domain.
  10. Support other data stewards, Subject matter experts, Leading advisors and Data Lead with the task of creating a plan on how to fill gaps through data governance development activities.
  11. Engage in Data Governance standardization projects across organization.

Role Description Data Manager Assistant: The Data Manager assistant will assist and/or be responsible for several relevant data and information governance capabilities, and support Data Lead in implementing Data Governance across the Drilling and Well domain.

The Data Manager assistant will work closely with Data Lead and other Data and Information managers in Drilling and Well to ensure a coordinated implementation of Data Governance across. Develop and mature data governance tools and work processes to meet domain needs, and other relevant cross domain initiatives (other relevant Function Areas). The Data Manager assistant will strive to implement the defined data governance level for all the relevant data governance capabilities within own data domain.

Main tasks Data Manager Assistant:

  1. Develop data governance tools and work processes to optimize D&W Data Governance implementation process.
  2. Maintain and update logical data architecture and logical data models.

Relevant for both roles: Ensure correct level of data governance is maintained based on capability requirements in Domain in close cooperation with Data Stewards, Subject matter Experts and Leading Advisors.

Qualifications

Master or bachelor's degree within relevant technical disciplines.
