PhD Fellowships in Applied Information Technology

Kristiania University College is offering fully funded PhD fellowships in Applied Information Technology for a fixed-term period of three years. About the Positions

The PhD position involves 30 ECTS credits of required course work, equivalent to one semester of study. The remaining time is allocated to the development and completion of an independent research project, which takes the form of a written dissertation. The successful candidate is expected to live and work in the Oslo region during the employment period and to take an active part in scholarly and social activities at Kristiania.

The PhD program in Applied Information Technology is built on three academic pillars: Software engineering, computer science, and information systems. The successful candidate will take part in research groups within relevant areas at Kristiania.

Qualifications and Personal Qualities

Required qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant subject area with a grade B or better on the master's thesis and for the master's degree in total.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Strong methodological skills and technical skills.
  • Curiosity and a strong motivation to carry out independent research.
  • Good communication and cooperation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently, systematically, and purposefully.

Emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.

  • The project's scientific quality, including originality and innovation, as well as relevance to the topics listed above.
  • The applicant's academic and personal ability to complete the project within the time frame.
  • Results from the master's degree and the master's thesis.
  • Knowledge of theories and methods within the relevant field of research.
  • Ambitions to conduct high-level research.
  • Good collaboration skills and an ability to join interdisciplinary academic communities.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
