Job Description

The Controller will play a crucial role in managing our accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and quality of our financial transactions and reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances, and preparing financial reporting.
  • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Managing tax compliance, including indirect federal and provincial, municipal, and corporate taxes.
  • Providing financial reporting to our Spanish parent company.
  • Assisting with external auditing.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Fluent English; French is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
