Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineer to join our team at SBM Offshore. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects, from design to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design phase for all constructability issues associated with the project, ensuring that all aspects are thoroughly considered.
  • Supervise a construction supervisor on small-sized projects, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Coordinate and supervise a small group of designers on major constructability exercises, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development of construction execution plans for medium to large-sized projects, ensuring that all aspects are thoroughly considered.
  • Review client contract specifications and prepare project construction specifications, ensuring that all requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all relevant QA and HSE procedures are understood, implemented, and enforced by all construction personnel.
  • Responsible for the quality and safety performance of all construction personnel working under their authority.
  • Establish and/or review construction procedures and planning input for the project, ensuring that all aspects are thoroughly considered.
  • Contribute to the preparation of onshore/offshore integration/hook-up work packs and job cards, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Plan and analyze the progress of the work, assess situations, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Write and issue progress reports on a regular basis, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed.
  • Provide assistance and advice to construction personnel working under their authority, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently.

Requirements

  • A university degree or technical college diploma in Engineering or Materials Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Engineering and/or Construction and/or Project Management in the offshore industry, with particular emphasis on FPSO/FSO Floating Production vessels.
  • Preferably with either a mechanical or structural background.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
