Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD candidate to join our team as a PhD Researcher in Ocean Engineering. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Erin Bachynski-Polić and contribute to our ongoing research projects in hydro-structural optimization of multi-modular floating structures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in marine technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or applied physics, with a focus on numerical optimization techniques and data analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in marine technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, applied physics, or equivalent
  • Programming skills in MATLAB, C, Python, or similar
  • Strong theoretical background in mathematics and physics
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills

About the Project

The PhD project is a part of the SFI BLUES center for research-based innovation. The present project aims to better understand trends in the dynamic performance of multi-modular structures and identify more optimal configurations, dimensions, and mooring systems through the development of efficient analysis tools and application of numerical optimization techniques.

Salary and Conditions

In the position of PhD Candidate, your gross salary will normally be NOK 536,200 per annum depending on qualifications and seniority.
