Oslo, Oslo County, Norway Statkraft Full time

About Statkraft

Statkraft is a leading renewable energy company with a strong presence in Europe. We have a team of experienced professionals working together to deliver innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controller to join our team in Ireland and UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of new renewable projects, ensuring that project teams receive the necessary support in monitoring and controlling project deliverables in terms of planning, cost controlling, and risk management activities.

The Project Controller will report to the Project Control Manager/PDU Delivery Directors in a matrixed environment and be responsible for managing the schedule, controlling capex, and assessing main risks from the development phase until project completion. The role requires analyzing all available project data, considering approved milestones, targets, constraints, criticalities, and assumptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage the time schedule across the project lifecycle, supporting project team members in controlling and monitoring progress.
  • Plan and control physical progress curves (S curves) for each project phase, analyzing the critical path and preparing recovery actions in agreement with the project team.
  • Support the definition of the project's capex until the main investment decision, ensuring the collection of relevant information from all involved units.
  • Control and monitor actuals, committed, and forecast during the execution phase.
  • Provide planned vs. actual analysis (both in terms of time and cost) measured against the baseline, as well as possible drivers and actions for improvement.
  • Identify, quantify, and manage risks that could impact project schedule and capex, bringing delay to milestone achievement and/or extra cost to approved baseline.
  • Manage risks with the project team to mitigate impact and/or probability.
  • Provide information to highlight discrepancies between physical progress and economic impacts.
  • Prepare monthly capex and schedule reports and assist project managers in preparing SteerCo reports.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis for evaluating mitigation actions aimed at reducing project riskiness.
  • Interface with all company units, contractors, and PMAs to provide reliable cost, risk, and scheduling data for project activities.
  • Attend and contribute to Quality Risk Assessment (QRA) sessions and develop P50 and P70 budgets.
  • Manage the change management process from contract award to closeout, inclusive of both external and internal cost centers and WBSs.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of overall project controls best practices and continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Masters or university degree in engineering, QS, construction management, or contracts administration on large capex projects or similar with documented extensive experience in the field.
  • MBA or MSc or equivalent training in project management and/or certification in PMI is a plus.
  • Project control experience (5-8 years) from large, complex, international investment projects.
  • Previous experience in renewable projects is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of relevant systems and tools, including Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, and other planning packages (MS Project, etc.).
  • Good working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise and experience in project control. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on innovative projects that contribute to a sustainable future.

What We Offer

  • Annual leave linked to tenure up to a maximum of 25 days.
