Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our team at Statkraft Group. As a key member of our Risk Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of quantitative risk analysts and developing advanced risk models to support our trading and origination business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of quantitative risk analysts to ensure the delivery of high-quality risk models and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain advanced risk models for valuing non-standard contracts and portfolios, including long-term renewable power purchase contracts and assets.
  • Enhance our risk models for the liquid time horizon across a wide range of European power markets and related commodities.
  • Maintain and enhance our forward curve tools and methodology.
  • Align development of new tools with main stakeholders, including market, credit, and liquidity risk, front office, and IT.
  • Introduce big data science methods to the energy risk toolkit.
  • Support the valuation of large complex commodity transactions.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding university degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field with a quantitative specialization.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial risk management, ideally in energy markets.
  • Strong commercial mindset and some front office experience desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge in the field of quantitative finance and risk, including mathematical statistics, big data methods, stochastic modeling, simulation techniques, optimization methods, and energy derivatives.
  • First experience as a team lead in a quantitative field.
  • Significant IT knowledge coupled with strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
  • Business-oriented and able to find the right balance between good-enough and perfect solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively about complex risk issues with all levels of the organization.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
