Statkraft is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Risk Modelling team. As Head of Quantitative Risk Analysis, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our risk models, enhancing our risk management capabilities, and aligning our risk tools with stakeholder needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of quantitative risk analysts to develop and maintain risk models for valuating non-standard contracts and portfolios.
- Enhance our risk models for liquid time horizons across European power markets and related commodities.
- Develop risk models for semi-liquid and illiquid time horizons for renewable assets and off-take agreements.
- Maintain and enhance our forward curve tools and methodology.
- Align development of new tools with main stakeholders, including market, credit, and liquidity risk, front office, and IT.
- Introduce big data science methods to the energy risk toolkit.
- Support the valuation of large complex commodity transactions.
- Outstanding university degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial risk management, ideally in energy markets.
- Strong commercial mindset and some Front Office experience desirable.
- Extensive knowledge in quantitative finance and risk, including mathematical statistics, big data methods, stochastic modelling, simulation techniques, optimization methods, and energy derivatives.
- First experience as a team lead in a quantitative field.
- Significant IT knowledge coupled with strong programming skills in Python.
- Business-oriented and able to find the right balance between good-enough and perfect solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively about complex risk issues with all levels of the organisation.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
