As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of our Vessel Robotics team, driving the development of autonomous robots that tackle the world's most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges.

You will collaborate closely with our mechanical-, electronics-, and software engineers to design and implement novel solutions for underwater autonomous robots. Your expertise in control algorithms and HW signals will be instrumental in creating innovative products that make a real impact.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our product development and field operations teams to improve the control algorithms and software implementation on our products. Your contributions will help shape the future of autonomous systems in the maritime industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new software algorithms for autonomous operation
  • Take ownership of improving our products' existing software structure through DevOps activities, leveraging Azure DevOps as our framework
  • Support the design and integration of software subsystems, ensuring seamless integration with the robot host platform

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master's degree or equivalent formal education in one or more fields within Cybernetics, Computer Science, or Electronics Systems Design
  • Minimum 4 years of programming experience
  • Fundamental understanding and some formal background in modern computer science principles
  • Competency in robotics, including software tools, computer vision, and paradigms for autonomous robot operation
  • Knowledge of real-time software systems on various hardware platforms
  • Ability to use common tools like Matlab/Python for data analysis
  • Interest in conducting field experiments and feasibility studies, including planning, execution, and post-processing of results

This role may require security clearance through the Norwegian National Security Authority or a background check.
