At Kongsberg Maritime, we are pushing the boundaries of innovation in the maritime industry. We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Vessel Robotics team, where you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge technology for underwater autonomous robots.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex technical challenges and collaborate with a talented team of engineers. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new software algorithms, improving existing software structures, and supporting the development of autonomous robot systems.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in computer science, electronics, or a related field, as well as experience with programming languages and software development tools. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new software algorithms for autonomous robot operation
  • Improve existing software structures and implement DevOps activities using Azure DevOps
  • Support the development of autonomous robot systems and collaborate with the mechanical and electronics teams

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree or equivalent formal education in computer science, electronics, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of programming experience
  • Fundamental understanding of computer science principles and experience with software development tools
  • Competency in robotics, including software tools, computer vision, and autonomous robot operation
  • Knowledge of real-time software systems and experience with various hardware platforms
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical ideas
