Procurement Manager for Hydro Projects

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Hydro Project Site Team in India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating all procurement activities within the project, including minor procurements, and planning, organizing, and managing the procurement function/team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing the market to identify potential suppliers and market trends.
  • Preparing the Procurement Strategy and procurement plan for the project based on relevant category strategies and input from the category and sourcing managers.
  • Performing tender processes, managing contracts, and securing efficient execution of all procurements for the project.
  • Maintaining the status of key aspects of all major contracts, including securities, supply chain, cost, and progress/time status.
  • Following up on risk and mitigation actions within the contract execution phase.
  • Acting as a commercial counterpart and advisor to the project manager.
  • Initiating and arranging contract/commercial training for the project team.
  • Monitoring and following up on sustainability requirements to contractors and their supply chain, including activities to create awareness.
  • Documenting the procurement process, contract management items, and learning in Jaggaer and the project collaboration tool.
  • Assisting the project team in take-over activities with contractors, dispute handling, and final settlement.
  • Performing supplier assessment (SPM) of each contract in Jaggaer.
  • Preparing contract close-out reports.
  • Supporting the O&M team in claims management of main contracts.
  • Building and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring a sustainable supply chain management.

About You

We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong commercial mindset, excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, and a proven track record of high customer satisfaction. You should have a bachelor's or master's degree from a leading/premier institute (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Contract/Procurement Management of handling Hydro Project contracts. Knowledge of FIDIC Contracts and experience with supply chain management software – SAP (Experience in Jaggaer is an extra advantage) are also essential.
