Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager to strengthen our business area's Project Delivery Unit (PDU). The PDU team is responsible for project execution of large-scale infrastructure renewable projects across Ireland and the UK.

You will report to the Programme Delivery Director for Grid services Ireland & UK and work primarily on Grid services projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Synchronous Condenser (Sync Comps) projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure PDU requirements are met for renewable construction projects at various stages of development and construction.
  • Coordinate project teams, including external consultants, contractors, and service providers.
  • Report project status to the Project Steering Committee and senior management.
  • Implement anti-corruption prevention measures while ensuring transparent reporting.
  • Evaluate internal communication, cooperation, and coordination between staff members and external parties.
  • Manage project meetings, minutes, and agreed actions.
  • Support tendering processes for new projects.
  • Finalize project designs with technical design teams.
  • Utilize Statkraft internal tools for payments, project tracking, safety, contract management, risk management, etc.
  • Contribute to the construction of wind, solar, battery storage, and other renewable energy projects, focusing on high environmental and HSSE standards.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A third-level engineering college degree.
  • Experience managing renewable energy development projects with a proven track record of delivering renewable/large-scale infrastructure projects through construction.
  • Prior experience with BESS or sync comps projects is preferable but not necessary, and a strong Electrical and Civil background would be an advantage.
  • A clear affinity with renewables and relevant working experience in the renewable energy industry, particularly in construction processes and environmental assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets and schedules from early-stage development to construction.
  • Strong technical understanding of renewable energy technology, experience with contracts and technical appendices for main technology supply contracts.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and management skills, including organizational ability and a target-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, AutoCAD, Share-point, and other applications.
