Oslo, Oslo County, Norway HITACHI ENERGY NORWAY AS Full time

Position Overview

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Leader to enhance the PGGI division. In this role, you will champion behavioral transformation to elevate performance through strategic initiatives by identifying and effectively addressing obstacles to change. Collaborating with local management teams, your focus will be on preventing errors and defects in products while ensuring seamless delivery of solutions and services to clients, thereby instilling confidence that both Hitachi Energy and customer quality standards are met.

If you are passionate about quality and continuous enhancement, you will serve as the voice of the customer within Hitachi Energy's local operations, utilizing feedback mechanisms such as surveys, complaint resolutions, and customer feedback data analysis to effectively communicate insights to the management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and cultivate the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement framework by engaging and advising key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Drive and support the strategic deployment of the Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement agenda for the local business, ensuring alignment with product line strategies. Promote the use of process management to achieve consistent outcomes, reduce variation, and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure quality assurance is integrated into all processes (built-in quality). Conduct assessments and audits to improve processes, leveraging identified risks, failures, and non-conformances within the local business, suppliers, and customers.
  • Establish effective internal control systems to verify that processes consistently meet customer and stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on quality metrics to ensure corrective actions are implemented. Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive measures are taken, and solutions are managed to completion.
  • Implement and execute the local strategy for continuous improvement and strategic deployment utilizing Lean Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies.
  • Comprehend the organization's vision, objectives, and improvement needs, proposing projects and improvement actions that align with these goals. Facilitate the sharing of best practices and collaborate with key stakeholders to secure buy-in and execute strategies.
  • Provide visibility across the organization regarding the current portfolio of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement initiatives; track progress and value through metrics/KPIs to assist decision-makers in resource allocation and recognizing success.
  • Support the deployment of policies, regulations, and processes that clearly define value chain activities and ensure effectiveness in meeting customer and shareholder expectations.
  • Promote the utilization of process management throughout the organization to achieve consistent results, minimizing variation and maximizing efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality processes and related tools to ensure quality in all operations, while addressing top quality issues and reporting, analyzing, and acting on KPIs. Ensure compliance with applicable Hitachi Energy regulations and quality-related instructions, driving the audit plan and program.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a matrix organization or in Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement roles.
  • A university degree in Engineering or Quality Management.
  • Proven track record in process improvement and quality assurance within a global engineering context (experience in manufacturing is advantageous).
  • Minimum certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Please note that in collaboration with Meditor search, a background screening will be conducted on all candidates who receive an employment offer from Hitachi Energy Norway to ensure the highest quality in our recruitment process, in accordance with our company policy.
