Overview

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager to be part of the PGGI team. In this role, you will advocate for behavioral transformation to enhance performance through various programs and initiatives, addressing barriers to change effectively. Collaborating with local management teams, your focus will be on preventing errors and defects in products while ensuring that solutions and services meet customer expectations, thereby assuring that both Hitachi Energy and customer quality standards are achieved.

If you are passionate about quality and continuous improvement, you will represent the voice of the customer within Hitachi Energy's local operations by leveraging customer feedback mechanisms such as surveys, complaint resolution, and data analysis to communicate insights to the management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Quality and Continuous Improvement framework by engaging and consulting with key stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Lead and support the deployment of strategies to define the Quality and Continuous Improvement approach for the local business, ensuring alignment with product line objectives. Promote the use of process management to achieve consistent outcomes, reduce variation, and enhance efficiency.
  • Embed quality assurance in all operational processes. Conduct assessments and audits to improve processes, utilizing identified risks, failures, and non-conformances from local operations, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ensure robust internal control systems are established to verify that processes consistently meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on quality metrics to ensure that corrective actions are implemented. Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive measures are taken, and solutions are effectively managed to completion.
  • Execute the local strategy for continuous improvement and strategy deployment using Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies.
  • Understand the organization's vision, objectives, and improvement needs, proposing projects and actions that align with these goals. Facilitate the sharing of best practices and collaborate with key stakeholders to gain support and execute strategies.
  • Provide visibility across the organization regarding the current portfolio of Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives; track progress and value through metrics/KPIs to assist decision-makers in resource allocation and recognizing achievements.
  • Support the implementation of policies, regulations, and processes that clearly outline value chain activities and ensure effectiveness in meeting customer and shareholder expectations.
  • Drive the use of process management throughout the organization to achieve consistent results, minimize variation, and maximize efficiencies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality processes and related tools to ensure quality in operational processes, addressing top quality issues and reporting on KPIs. Ensure compliance with applicable Hitachi Energy regulations and quality instructions, driving the audit plan and program.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a matrix organization or in Quality and Continuous Improvement roles.
  • A degree in Engineering or Quality Management.
  • Proven track record in process improvement and quality assurance within a global engineering context (experience in manufacturing environments is advantageous).
  • Minimum Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
