The University of Gothenburg, a renowned institution for academic excellence, is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join its esteemed team at the Institute of Clinical Sciences. As a research scientist in pregnancy genomics, you will be part of a dynamic group tackling society's most pressing challenges.

With a strong focus on perinatal medical research, our team has made significant contributions to the field, including the largest GWAS meta-analysis of gestational duration and preterm birth to date. We are now looking for an exceptional individual to contribute to ongoing efforts in this area and explore novel genetic variants affecting pregnancy duration and preterm delivery.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct high-quality research, collaborating with colleagues and other research groups to achieve impactful results. You will work with unique genomic data from family trios, extensive medical and questionnaire-related variables, validated environmental exposures, and a comprehensive birth registry covering over four million pregnancies.

We value excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to write coherent scientific text and collaborate independently. Fluency in Swedish is a merit, but not required. The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree in a relevant field, experience in statistical modeling, and expertise in R/Python and UNIX environments.
