PhD Candidate in Physical Education and Sport Science

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified PhD candidate to join our research group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The successful candidate will be part of a 3-year research project examining the disability experience of students and recently graduated adults from Norwegian schools, with a focus on understanding the disability experiences in physical education and sport contexts.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement a research project within the parameters set by the position
- Conduct scientific communication and research dissemination
- Participate in professional organizations and/or conferences
- Write and defend a PhD thesis
- Be an active participant in the research group, department, and research environment at the institute
- A professionally relevant background in physical education
- A strong academic background from previous studies, with an average grade of B or better
- Master's students who have submitted their master's thesis can apply, but the degree must be obtained and documented before starting the position
- Meet the requirements for admission to the faculty's doctoral program
- Oral and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to write and publish international scientific articles based on carried out research tasks
- Documented training in adapted physical education, adapted physical activity, special education, disability sport, or another related field
- Oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and/or experience working in a Norwegian educational context
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Structured, systematic, and goal-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to collaborate and engage in international research and networking opportunities
- Motivation to contribute to a good working environment, both academically and socially
- Exciting and stimulating tasks in a strong international academic environment
- An open and dedicated team
- Favourable terms in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund
As a PhD candidate, you will be paid from gross NOK per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The period of employment is 3 years. Appointment to a PhD position requires that you are admitted to the (Specialization Teaching Profession and School Research) within three months of employment, and that you participate in an organized PhD programme during the employment period.
