The Opportunity: We are building a new Financial Reporting structure within Schibsted Marketplaces, aimed at becoming a center of excellence and a trusted partner to our subsidiaries. As the Head of Accounting & Consolidation, you will be at the heart of this transformation, leading a team of skilled professionals and driving the consolidation process for Schibsted Marketplaces Group on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. You will also oversee accounting compliance for all subsidiaries, ensuring strong internal controls and collaborating closely with the Sustainability team to enhance our sustainability reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver high-quality quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements for Schibsted Marketplaces Group.
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Investor Relations to ensure top-tier internal and external financial reporting.
  • Partner with the Sustainability team to refine and enhance sustainability reporting processes in alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, Value-Added Tax (VAT), and tax regulations across the group.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the external audit process.
  • Prepare accounting memos and ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards.
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to maintain robust financial processes.
  • Ensure compliance with European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) and EU taxonomy reporting requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvements and alignment of accounting processes, leading key projects and initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience as a team leader, with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Professional Background: You are a State Authorized Public Accountant or have significant experience in financial reporting according to IFRS for international groups or listed companies.
  • Educational Qualifications: Master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with deep knowledge of accounting and reporting processes.
  • Self-Driven & Collaborative: You are independently driven, thrive in a collaborative environment, and have a proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and either Swedish or Norwegian.
