Job Description

As an Engineering Manager in the Sustaining Engineering team, your primary goal is to empower engineers to grow professionally and contribute significantly to the team's success. You will have opportunities to shape the culture, drive technical delivery, and collaborate with your team on strategic objectives.

This role involves:

  • Leading a distributed team of engineers and ensuring their growth and well-being
  • Hiring, mentoring, providing feedback, and guiding career development for team members
  • Monitoring and improving key performance indicators (KPIs) and training programs
  • Ensuring timely delivery of bug fixes, patches, and technical solutions to meet business needs across various technologies
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service and representing Canonical in the best possible light
  • Establishing and managing expectations with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Promoting modern software development practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Cultivating a positive, collaborative engineering culture aligned with our company values
  • Collaborating with other teams within the organization
  • Working remotely with occasional international travel (up to 10%) for team meetings and events
