About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and passionate leader to join our team as a Thruster Product Sales and Product Management Leader. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading the product sales and product management activities of our Thruster Product Line.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of professionals in product sales and product management
- Develop and implement our long-term product strategy
- Manage the thruster portfolio in close cooperation with peers in the lifecycle business
- Work together with Global Marine Sales and Sales Engineering to promote and market thruster products
- Join sales capture teams as needed
- Meet customers and stakeholders to maintain up-to-date understanding of markets
- Support the team and Sales to open market possibilities for Wärtsilä's propulsion products
- Monitor sales pipeline and take necessary actions to improve sales and profitability
- Develop product marketing plans with the marketing organization
- Search for opportunities and give presentations to improve visibility of products and their value propositions
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience in new build project sales and/or new build product management, preferably in the marine propulsion sector
- Relevant line manager experience of minimum 3 years
- Excellent understanding of the maritime ship new building industry and insight in propulsion business
- Good level technical understanding of hydrodynamics and propulsion products
- Highly dynamic strong personal drive, used to taking own initiatives and being pro-active
- Commercial and customer-oriented mindset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Leadership attitude and management skills as expected from a senior leader
- Very good communication skills, professional use of English in verbal and writing
