Product Director Thrusters and Propulsion Control Systems

Wärtsilä, a world leader in marine technology, seeks a seasoned leader to join its team as Product Director Thrusters and Propulsion Control Systems. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead the product management of Wärtsilä's thruster portfolio and contribute to the company's mission of transforming the maritime industry towards a decarbonized and sustainable future.
The Product Director will be responsible for overseeing all product management aspects of Wärtsilä's thruster portfolio, including developing and implementing the long-term product line strategy. This involves working closely with peers in the lifecycle business to manage the thruster portfolio, promoting products through marketing and sales channels, and monitoring sales pipeline performance to improve profitability.
This role is ideal for a dynamic and experienced leader who possesses a strong understanding of the maritime ship new building industry, propulsion business, and hydrodynamics. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant experience in modern new build project sales and/or new build product management, preferably in the marine propulsion sector. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline and excellent communication skills are also required.
The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000-$180,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications. The preferred locations for this role are Propulsion key locations in Netherlands, Norway, Finland, or China. However, other locations may be considered if there is a good match with the candidate.
