At Wärtsilä, we're shaping the industry's transformation towards a decarbonized and sustainable future. As a Sales Engineer for Hybrid Electric Propulsion Systems, you'll be part of our dynamic team that delivers efficient, safe, and sustainable integrated products and solutions.

With a passion for exploring technical and commercial solutions, you'll work closely with our customers to provide value and drive innovation. Your expertise in electrical power systems will be essential in configuring solutions for hybrid and electric propulsion systems.

As a key member of our Ship Electrification Solutions team, you'll be involved in multiple sales projects, collaborating with our Sales Manager to cover the whole scope from early sales phases to deal transfer to project execution teams.

To ensure the best value proposition, you'll coordinate technical bids with our global front-line sales force and suppliers of solution components, such as generators, converters, batteries, transformers, or e-motors.

This role is preferably located in Stord, Norway, or Hamburg, Germany, but due to the international character of this job, you'll work with customers and Sales Managers worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and tailor technical content and scope of solutions based on customer discussions
  • Engage in technical discussions with shipyards, owners, and design companies
  • Create technical bids, including formulation of technical and commercial documentation
  • Provide technical expertise in sales phases and support Sales Teams
  • Prepare technical solutions, cost and sales price calculations, and training
  • Coordinate order transfer from Sales and Sales Engineering to Project and Engineering execution teams

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Ships Operational Technology
  • Professional experience in power generation plants, control, and converter technology
  • Structured and practical way of working with a hands-on attitude
  • Passion for exploring technical and commercial solutions to provide value to customers
  • English language (written and spoken)
