We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing job readiness training and employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment.

Through our resale efforts, we were able to keep 10 million pounds of donated goods from hitting our landfills last year.

This role is responsible for assisting the management team in the daily operations of the store, including some management functions, opening/closing the store, and overseeing production/retail operations.

1. Ensure excellent customer service is provided to customers and donors.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, including training and professional development to motivate and increase productivity.
3. Engage staff and create a positive work environment where employee relationships are prioritized.
4. Assist with performance evaluations, goal setting conversations, and scheduling.
5. Maintain the store in a clean, safe, and organized manner with merchandise properly displayed.
6. Document and report any concerns or issues to management in a timely manner.
7. Support the implementation of organizational initiatives such as 4DX methodology.
8. Ensure auction products meet quality standards and determine bidding prices.
9. Gauge when compactor is full and properly change container to maximize efficiency.
10. Supervise and handle large shipments of product and stage it appropriately upon arrival.
11. Assess the needs in the dock area to ensure a constant and efficient flow of product and bins.
12. Prepare Bill of Ladings accurately, maintain records of voided ones, to ensure compliance with weigh master requirements.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Experience: One year supervisory experience. Retail experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, email, internet use, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Certificates & Licenses: Must have a CA Driver's License and driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company requirements. Must also have an insured, reliable vehicle.
• Other Requirements: Ability to operate electronic cash register, forklift certified, and able to read and understand sales reports.
