Job Summary

Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a qualified Maritime Task Group Subject Matter Expert to support NATO's Joint Warfare Center's high-priority exercises. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, producing, delivering, and archiving new settings and scenarios, as well as updating and reviewing existing ones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement OPFOR Maritime Task Group strategies and tactics to support NATO's Joint Warfare Center's exercises.
  • Collaborate with the Joint Warfare Center's Scenario Branch to ensure that OPFOR Maritime Task Group scenarios are aligned with NATO's exercise and training program.
  • Provide guidance and support to the OPFOR Maritime Task Group team to ensure that they are equipped to develop and deliver high-quality scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including NATO's Joint Warfare Center and other exercise participants.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the Maritime Task Group domain and apply this knowledge to support the development of realistic and challenging scenarios.
  • Contribute to the development of OPFOR Maritime Task Group policies and procedures to ensure that they are aligned with NATO's exercise and training program.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the OPFOR Maritime Task Group team on matters related to Maritime Task Group operations and tactics.
  • Support the development of OPFOR Maritime Task Group training programs to ensure that they are aligned with NATO's exercise and training program.
  • Collaborate with other exercise participants to ensure that OPFOR Maritime Task Group scenarios are integrated with other exercise components.
  • Develop and maintain OPFOR Maritime Task Group documentation, including scenario briefs and after-action reports.
  • Support the evaluation and assessment of OPFOR Maritime Task Group scenarios to ensure that they are meeting NATO's exercise and training program requirements.
Requirements
  • A University/Bachelor's Degree or Staff College.
  • Minimum 8 years previous military experience within the last 12 years in the operational Maritime domain, including at least 2 years at sea, reaching the rank of OF5 or above.
  • Previous Command of a Maritime Task Group at OF4 level or higher.
  • Previous Staff Officer qualified and worked at 2-star (Division Level) or higher in one of the following: a) MAR, JOINT or NATO; b) National Command Structure; c) NATO Force Structure; d) Maritime Component HQ in one of the following domains: J3, J5, A2, N3, or N5.
  • Previous NATO assignment or deployment to a NATO operation or NATO fleet in the operational MAR field domain within one of the following domains: J3, J5, N3, N5.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in assessing and reading the Recognised Maritime Picture (RMP) including white shipping.
  • Experience of the NATO or national operational planning processes in respect of MAR operations.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Current NATO Secret Security Clearance or National equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English as defined in STANAG 6001 (Standardized Linguistic Profile (SLP) 3333 – Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) or equivalent.
Clearance and Location

Must possess an active NATO or U.S. SECRET or higher security clearance. The successful candidate will be based at the NATO Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway.

CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
