We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in Technology, Digital & Innovation as an Advanced Inspection Technology Specialist.

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for initiating, developing and executing research and development on advanced inspection technologies. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify business needs, opportunities and technology gaps. Your specialist advisory services will be crucial in supporting Equinor operations and projects.

You will ensure that design and operational risks are identified and mitigated, and provide expert guidance on inspection technology. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to both research and technology development, as well as specialist technical advisory services to various Equinor business areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate, develop and execute research and development on advanced inspection technologies.
  • Identify business needs, opportunities and technology gaps in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide specialist advisory services to Equinor operations and projects.
  • Ensure that design and operational risks are identified and mitigated.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong background in materials technology, mechanical engineering or a similar field. A minimum of 10 years' experience from inspection and experience with inspection during fabrication or operation is required. Familiarity with industrial inspection technologies such as ultrasound, eddy current and radiography is essential, as well as advanced methods based on these technologies.

A Level II or III inspector certificate is an advantage, and you should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Proactive mindset, stamina to get things through and strong project management skills are also highly desirable.

About the Role
