About the Project

The PhD research fellowship will focus on the materiality of Christianity and its physical remains within the Norwegian territory. We encourage applicants with innovative ideas for developing a project related to one or more of the following areas:

  • The Christianization process and its effects on the landscape and society.
  • The material remains of churches, monasteries, and hospitals and their significance in society.
  • Religiosity and everyday life in the Middle Ages reflected through various source materials.

You will work closely with the research group and contribute to their research agenda.
