Our Operations
The European Wind and Solar division is dedicated to the development and management of wind, solar, and storage initiatives across Europe. This division also oversees the execution of large-scale projects within Statkraft.
As we expand into various European markets, we are seeking an Investment Manager to enhance our Investment Team with a focus on the Netherlands. This team provides investment and commercial expertise to Asset Owners concerning project development, acquisitions, valuations, partnerships, and divestiture processes. Team members are located in multiple European offices.
Role Overview
Location: Amsterdam
In this position, you will collaborate with seasoned investment managers and project developers, assisting in the financial evaluation of project opportunities and investments in the wind and solar sectors. While the primary focus will be on the Dutch market, you may also support other European markets as needed.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Developing the business case and constructing the project's financial model, including various offtake options. Collaborating closely with project teams and other departments to ensure accurate reflection of all project assumptions, enhancing the reliability and value of the business case. Offering commercial insights to the development team and analyzing different project scenarios (ownership structures, technology co-location, revenue streams, storage, etc.). Structuring and preparing documentation for the origination and execution of projects, pipelines, and M&A opportunities (both buy- and sell-side). Leading M&A projects in collaboration with other departments. Cultivating relationships with investors in the renewable energy sector, expanding the company's investor network, providing market intelligence on investor preferences, and tracking industry transactions.You will report to the Head of Commercial Support for your region. This role is based in Amsterdam, and some travel may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
A university degree in finance, economics, or engineering. Approximately 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a bank, infrastructure investor, energy company, or consultancy. Experience in renewables is advantageous. Strong understanding of project value drivers, excellent analytical skills, and innovative thinking to optimize project economics. Proficient financial modeling skills (MS Excel) and demonstrable valuation experience. Commercial acumen to manage negotiations and analyze transaction and legal documents. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong report writing and presentation abilities. Capacity to prioritize and manage workload effectively. Reliability, professionalism, and integrity. Fluency in Dutch and English; additional languages are a plus for working on projects in various countries.Additional Information
