**Job Description Summary**

We are seeking an intermediate to senior level C++ software developer to strengthen our Handheld Ultrasound R&D team at GE Healthcare. As a highly motivated expert engineer, you will join a global team focused on topics such as ultrasound image processing, algorithm, and platform development.

Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement C++ software for cross-platform, hand-held medical ultrasound applications.
  2. Develop high-performance GPU image-processing algorithms for mobile devices (iOS, Android).
  3. Create robust, well-documented, maintainable, and extensible software for new developments and extending or changing existing code.
  4. Write testable software with unit tests.
  5. Efficiently work in an agile team of highly skilled developers through design discussions and code review.
  6. Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team of product owners, usability experts, and clinical experts to understand user value and shape product requirements.

Required Qualifications

  1. You hold a degree in computer science or one of the STEM majors with advanced experience.
  2. You have extensive experience with software development using modern C++ (C++11 and later).
  3. You have experience in designing and implementing complex software systems and architectures.
  4. You work efficiently with existing code bases and are comfortable refactoring large parts of legacy code when necessary.
  5. You understand the value of unit tests and treat them like product code.
  6. You have experience with image-processing algorithms and GPUs for maximum performance.
