Automation Engineer

As a graduate in our Automation, Robotics and Cybernetics program, you will be joining a team of 21,000 colleagues delivering oil, gas, wind, and solar power to 170 million people worldwide. Our aim is to become a net-zero company by 2050, and we need talented individuals like you to help us achieve this goal.
The 2-year program includes rotations of 3-12 months across various functions, business areas, or locations, providing you with diverse experiences and opportunities for growth. You will be working on real-world projects, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies, and collaborating with experts from different fields.
Key Responsibilities- Create digital solutions for safe monitoring and control of facilities and efficient operations and production in Equinor.
- Develop network architecture and design to fulfill cyber security and operational functionality needs for plant automation systems.
- Accelerate the use of robots and drones within Equinor through software development, technology qualification, implementation, simulation, testing, and integration of robotic solutions.
- Follow up automation and process system development in major plant development projects within renewables, oil & gas, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen production, from early engineering through construction and finally start-up of the plant.
- Perform in technology research & development and implementing the results at our plants.
- Provide technical support for operation, maintenance and modifications of our offshore and onshore plants in Norway and abroad.
To be successful in this role, you should have a Master's degree or PhD with a good academic record within Cybernetics, Automation, Robotics and Electronics system design. You should also have completed your degree by 2024 and be fluent in English. Additionally, you should have no more than two years of relevant fulltime work experience, although formal experience is not a requirement. Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work can be an advantage.
