About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Associate to join our team at TransPerfect. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing new business relationships and serving as the first level of support to existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various strategies, including internet sourcing, trade show lists, referrals, and professional directories.
  2. Foster and close new clients through referrals, cold calling, networking, and other means, such as tradeshows and regional organizations.
  3. Grow new business from existing clients by working closely with senior leadership to expand current relationships and upsell the TransPerfect portfolio.
  4. Creatively problem solve to improve current new business development strategy.
  5. Negotiate rates and deadlines with prospective and current clients.
  6. Educate prospective and existing clients regarding the translation process, including TransPerfect's rates, justification for turnaround time, and competitors' information.
  7. Liaise with production to ensure that all jobs are handled appropriately and with keen attention to detail, resulting in a perfect product.
  8. Consistently follow up with clients to ensure their satisfaction with delivery, quality, and customer service.
  9. Stay up-to-date on all industries that TransPerfect markets to, including industry leaders, current events, and other pertinent data.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  2. Ability to build and maintain relationships.
  3. Superior written and spoken communication skills in English and Norwegian (CEFR Level 2 / native or bilingual).
  4. Good analytical skills needed to project revenues, monitor budgets, and other necessary calculations.
  5. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work well with people from different backgrounds and cultures, build strategic relationships, and take active measures to solve problems.
  6. Ongoing legal right to work in Norway.
