PhD Position in Artistic Entrepreneurship

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our team at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct innovative research in artistic entrepreneurship, exploring the intersection of art, technology, and society.
Job DescriptionThe PhD position will focus on developing ways to activate the potentials of artistic entrepreneurship across sectors and through the means of documentation and collaboration in the visual arts. The candidate's dissertation should investigate the role of creatives as entrepreneurs and change-makers in today's society, as well as new models for collaboration and co-creation between artists, creatives, private and public actors.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct innovative research in artistic entrepreneurship, exploring the intersection of art, technology, and society.
- Develop an artistic research project that operates in or across multiple perspectives, including change-making, work placement, skills and methods, cultural entrepreneurship, and education.
- Collaborate with the master's program in Artistic Entrepreneurship and the PACESETTERS research project.
- Contribute to the development of the joint master's program in artistic entrepreneurship and provide input to the Horizon Europe-funded research project PACESETTERS.
- A master's degree in art, architecture, design, or a related field.
- Demonstrate potential to carry out an artistic research project of international excellence.
- Document previous experience of artistic research methods.
- Have a track record of successful activities in the context of contemporary art and culture.
- Demonstrate the ability to contribute to complex artistic research projects in the field of visual arts, across creative disciplines and in collaboration with societal stakeholders or scientific academic environments.
- Meet the requirements for admission to the faculty's PhD program.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in exploring future methods of cross-disciplinary collaboration between art, technology, and society.
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Exciting and stimulating tasks in a strong international academic environment.
- An open and dedicated team of colleagues.
- Favourable terms in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
As a PhD candidate, you will be paid from gross NOK per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. The period of employment is 4 years, with 25% teaching duties.
